The UN claims that despite border drop-offs, no humanitarian aid has reached Gaza

EXCERPT: Despite supplies at the border, the UN reports that no help has yet reached Gaza due to Israeli clearance delays that prohibit delivery.

According to a United Nations official, despite supplies being transported to the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom border, no humanitarian aid has been safely distributed inside the Gaza Strip as of Tuesday.

A UN team had waited for hours to obtain authorization from Israeli officials to enter the border and gather vital nutrition supplies, but the go-ahead never materialized, according to UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric.

One of our teams had to wait for the Israeli approval to enter the Kerem Shalom region and retrieve the nutrition supplies today, which took many hours. Dujarric said, “Unfortunately, they were unable to bring those supplies into our warehouse.”

After an 11-week siege that has worsened the humanitarian situation in the enclave, Israel stated barely a day ago that it will let limited relief deliveries to restart in Gaza.

Despite the purported relaxation of limitations, relief organizations are still unable to provide vital food, medical, and nutritional supplies to Gaza’s most vulnerable inhabitants due to logistical and security issues.

Unrestricted humanitarian access has been called for by the UN on numerous occasions, as delays and barriers run the risk of making the already terrible situation for civilians stranded in the combat area worse. Aid organizations are still waiting for authorization to provide individuals in need with life-saving aid.
