Meet the Most Amazing Mothers in Nairobi Through “The Mommy Club NBO” on Showmax

The Mommy Club NBO, the fifth installment of Showmax’s record-breaking reality series, will premiere on May 30, 2025.

The Nairobi edition of The Mommy Club, which has been wildly successful in South Africa and Tanzania, promises a close-up look at the lives of five incredible Kenyan women as they juggle motherhood, ambition, and the glitz and glitter of the city.

Jackie Matubia, a Kalasha-nominated actor, influencer, and developer of digital content, is at the center of the program. Jackie, 34, is a devoted mother to two girls from different men, Zendaya (2) and Zari (9). She has gained notoriety for being open about the dynamics of her mixed family and frequently posts heartfelt messages to the fathers of her children on social media. Even though the public has often scrutinized Jackie’s relationships, she is still committed to providing a loving home where her girls may have deep connections with their fathers and grandparents.

She is joined by renowned DJ and actress DJ Pierra Makena, whose lively personality is evident in her close bond with her 8-year-old daughter Ricca. Even though Pierra’s ex-partner married someone else while she was pregnant, the 43-year-old openly raises her kid alone, defying social norms. Pierra offers viewers a heartwarming glimpse into the pleasures and challenges of parenting in the spotlight through open discussions and lighthearted exchanges with Ricca.

Model, digital creator, and Carey Beauty School founder Carey Priscilla, 35, contributes a business-savvy yet grounded viewpoint to the show. Carey lives with her spouse Benitto and has three children: a girl, two boys, and a wife. The couple, who are well-known on TikTok for their hilarious skits and incredibly relatable content, recently made news when Carey openly talked about requesting her husband to have a vasectomy. Carey’s tale is one of heart, humor, and hustle as she balances raising her kids and managing a burgeoning cosmetics business.

Lynne Njihia, a 23-year-old content producer, dancer, commercial model, and comedian Eric Omondi’s fiancée, is also highlighted. From dealing with postpartum bodily changes to the highs and lows of parenting in the spotlight, Lynne, a first-time mother, candidly describes her experience as a mother. Younger mothers are drawn to her engaging content because they see themselves in her story.

Ofentse Tsipa, a 36-year-old life coach and podcast host from South Africa who resides in Nairobi with her Dutch spouse and their two kids, completes the cast. Ofentse, a student at United States International University-Africa, gives the series a worldwide viewpoint. Well-known for her efforts to assist others in realizing their goals and making wise decisions in life, she uses her position to offer advice on personal growth, marriage, and motherhood. In addition, she is the sister of Shaka Ilembe-based renowned actor Lemohang Tsipa, which strengthens her ties to the media and narrative industries.

Patricia Gichinga, Head of Production at M-Net, says, “We are excited to bring The Mommy Club to Kenya and highlight the diverse lives of these amazing women.” “Against the lively, fast-paced backdrop of Nairobi, this series celebrates motherhood in all its dimensions—from the highs and lows of raising children to the pursuit of personal passions and dreams.”

Eugene Mbugua’s D&R Studios, the renowned production company behind the popular reality show The Real Housewives of Nairobi, is producing The Mommy Club NBO. The show is positioned to be a must-watch since it combines meaningful moments, real emotion, and elegant drama.
