Cooper Flagg of Duke has announced his decision to enter the NBA draft

Cooper Flagg, a freshman at Duke and Wooden Award winner, announced his intention to enter the 2025 NBA Draft.

He is anticipated to be selected first overall in the New York draft on June 25. Flagg posted on Instagram to make the announcement.

“It was an incredible year, probably the best year of my life,” Flagg stated in a video. “I am really appreciative. I consider myself really fortunate to have had all of these experiences. I’ve always wanted to attend Duke, but I’m thrilled to say that I’ll be putting my name in the 2025 NBA Draft. Even though today is only the beginning, I will always have the brothers with me.

In addition, Flagg joined Duke’s Zion Williamson (2019), Kentucky’s Anthony Davis (2012), and Texas’ Kevin Durant (2007) as the only other freshmen to win the Naismith Trophy.

The 6-foot-9 forward helped the Blue Devils to the Final Four with an average of 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists across 37 games. In addition, he received the ACC Player of the Year award.

Flagg joins Duke classmate and fellow freshman Kon Knueppel, who announced his intention to be drafted last week. ESPN projects him as a lottery pick.
