Two athletes have tragically lost their lives during a half-marathon in Kazakhstan
On Sunday, organisers reported that two runners passed away during a half-marathon in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Akkoyan Rsaliyev, aged 84, lost consciousness at the beginning of the race, while Akhmadi, 21, had completed approximately 16 kilometres (10 miles) when he passed away.
Both frequently took part in long-distance running events.
“Organisers stated that the corporate foundation ‘Courage to be the First’ extends its condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.”
