Ed Sheeran Shares Major Reason for Missing Super Bowl Halftime Show

Ed Sheeran doesn’t believe he has enough songs from his back catalog to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Hits like “Shape of You,” “The A-Team,” and “Bad Habits” aren’t enough for the 34-year-old star, whose albums have all reached the top of the UK charts and have never placed lower than fifth in the US, to secure the coveted position.

“There was a conversation about ten years ago to go on with someone, and I think that’d be the only way that I would do it at the moment,” he said on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

“I don’t think English artists are like— I mean, some have the Super Bowl glitz, with fireworks, dancers, blah, blah, blah — but there’s no one who wants to see me go up there and say, ‘Here’s ‘The A Team’ and ‘Perfect.'”

“The catalogue I have doesn’t really lend itself,” he continued.

Ed said that if he joined another performer on stage, that would be the finest approach to engage him.

However, he continued, “I don’t know if there was a show with a lot of that, like Beyoncé’s show, where she had all the bells and whistles, and then there was a moment where we sang ‘Perfect’ together.” I don’t think I could accomplish it. Do you think I could pull it off?

The singer-songwriter of “Azizam” also criticized the format of his live performances, stating that they don’t “really lend themselves” to a performance like the Super Bowl.

“Have you also seen me play?” he said. because you have to construct the items and utilize a loop pedal.

It isn’t a good fit for the Super Bowl. Hey, folks, hold on. I only need two minutes to set things up.

Ed has the celebrity power to perform at the Super Bowl, but Chesney Hawkes, the creator of “The One And Only,” once turned down a collaboration deal.

“I’d do sessions for [Jake], and we’d be trying to get a song for someone like Kylie Minogue,” Chesney said in the Bizarre column of The Sun newspaper. He informed me that Ed Sheeran, a child, was dozing off on his couch. “Come and do a session,” Jake suggested. “Ed who?” I asked. Now that I’m working with A1, I act like Mr. Big B*******.
