Kings G. Malik Monk (calf) will be absent for at least two weeks

ESPN announced Wednesday night that guard Malik Monk will miss the Sacramento Kings’ last three regular season games as well as the postseason due to a strained left calf.

In two weeks, Monk, 27, will undergo another evaluation, according to the report, which also discusses the Kings’ play-in campaign. Nineth in the Western Conference standings is Sacramento (39–40).

On Monday, he sustained an injury during the first quarter of Sacramento’s 127-117 victory over the Detroit Pistons on the road. In six minutes, he scored two goals and provided one assist.

The NBA injury report states that Monk’s left calf pain has already disqualified him from Wednesday’s game against the visiting Denver Nuggets. The Kings play the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday at home to wrap up the regular season.

This season, he has averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 31.6 minutes across 65 games, 45 of which he has started. 86.5 percent of his foul shots and 32.5 percent of his 3-point tries are being made.

With the Charlotte Hornets (2017–21), Los Angeles Lakers (2021–22), and Kings (2022–present), Monk has averaged 12.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 22.8 minutes in 523 games (83 starts) over his career.

Terence Davis, a guard with the Wisconsin Herd of the G League, was signed by Sacramento, the team announced Wednesday. In 30 games, his averages were 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 26.4 minutes.

For the Toronto Raptors (2019–21) and Kings (2021–23), Davis, 27, has averaged 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 16.1 minutes in 227 NBA games (24 starts).
