At an airfield in Yangju, north of Seoul, a South Korean military drone struck a stationary helicopter Monday, starting a fire that was quickly put out.

According to the nation’s military ministry, there were no casualties from the event, and the fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes.

The Heron, a big reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for surveillance operations, was manufactured in Israel and was the drone involved in the crash, according to Yonhap News Agency. The study also stated that at the time of the accident, there was no GPS jamming or other interference from North Korea.

The Heron drone has been involved in other incidents in the region before. Concerns regarding operational safety were raised when the same kind of UAV crashed in a nearby area in November of last year.

The reason of the disaster is anticipated to be thoroughly investigated by authorities.
