Kelly and Parker are called up by England to replace the injured Arsenal pair

The English FA announced on Monday that forward Chloe Kelly and defender Lucy Parker have been added to the England team for the Women’s Nations League games this month, taking the place of injured Arsenal players Beth Mead and Lotte Wubben-Moy.

Kelly played for Arsenal in Sunday’s 5-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Women’s Super League, her first game back at her former club after being loaned from Manchester City. She was not included in coach Sarina Wiegman’s squad announcement last week.

Mead was not used as a substitute on Sunday, and Wubben-Moy had a muscular injury, according to Arsenal manager Renee Slegers.

Parker has failed to make her international debut after playing 11 WSL games for Aston Villa this season.

Before hosting Spain on February 26, England will travel to Portugal on Friday for their first Women’s Nations League group stage match.

England’s team:

Defensive players: Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, Jess Carter, Niamh Charles, Maya Le Tissier, Esme Morgan, Millie Turner, Leah Williamson, and Lucy Parker Goalkeepers: Mary Earps, Hannah Hampton, and Anna Moorhouse

Midfielders: Keira Walsh, Jess Park, Ruby Mace, Grace Clinton, Laura Blindkilde Brown, and Ella Toone

Alessia Russo, Lauren James, Chloe Kelly, Jess Naz, Nikita Parris, and Aggie Beever-Jones are the forwards.
