Kendrick Lamar is urged by Usher to “savour” his Super Bowl experience
Kendrick Lamar has been advised by Usher to “savor” the moment of doing the Super Bowl halftime performance.
Before Kendrick, 37, performs in New Orleans on Sunday, the 46-year-old singer, who sang at the 2024 halftime show in Las Vegas, has given him some advise.
“I haven’t had the chance to catch up with him and tell him, one, how excited I am,” Usher stated during an interview on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” I’ve spoken to everyone in the area. I’ve spoken with his creative team and all of the producers.
“The only thing I would advise is to enjoy the moment because you can become fixated on creating the greatest performance and lose sight of the fact that it’s really about having fun.”
Kendrick was advised by Usher not to worry too much about his performance.
“It might not be perfect, everything might not go exactly as it’s supposed to,” the “U Remind Me” hitmaker stated. However, you won’t glance up and smell the flowers if you’re caught in your head trying to make something perfect.
And come to the realization that, “Wait a minute, I’m here and I get a chance to have this moment and I’m not going to get it again” or “get this moment back.” I thus urge him to be fully present and wish him luck in making the most of the situation.
Kendrick should make sure he “maximizes” the historic time in his career, according to Usher.
“There are many things that can be said, a lot about the origins of hip-hop, a lot about that young man and how he has been an amazing example of what it means to be an artist,” he added.
“All I can hope for is that he makes the most of that moment.”
