Lady Gaga’s new dance song, Abracadabra, takes her back to her roots
“Abracadabra,” a new dance tune, was released by Lady Gaga.
During a commercial break during the Grammy Awards on Sunday, the “Poker Face” hitmaker revealed the eye-catching music video for the song from her upcoming seventh studio album, “Mayhem.”
As expected, it’s a high-drama video, with the 38-year-old celebrity introducing it with the words, “The category is dance or die,” while sporting a striking red latex outfit and a huge studded helmet.
Sonically, it’s a throwback to the “Born This Way” period of 2011.
Regarding the follow-up to 2020’s “Chromatica,” Gaga had stated in a statement: “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.”
The album includes her Grammy-winning Bruno Mars duet, “Die with a Smile,” which won the couple the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy last night, as well as her earlier songs, “Disease.”
“Gaga, I’m so honored to be a part of this song with you,” Bruno, 39, exclaimed during his victory speech.
“I genuinely feel that God gave us this song to sing together, and I’m so honored to have a small part in your enormous musical legacy. Thank you so much.”
Following President Donald Trump’s revocation of LGBTQ+ rights in the US, Gaga paid a heartfelt homage to the transgender community in her own address.
Being a songwriter, producer, and musician is an honor, she stated. Singing for you all is such an honor, and I just wanted to let you know that transgender individuals are not invisible tonight. Transgender persons are worthy of love. It is time to elevate the gay community. Love is music. Thank you.
As an homage to Los Angeles in the midst of the continuing flames, Gaga and Bruno also performed a performance of “California Dreamin” by The Mama and the Papas.
Gaga, meanwhile, hinted that her upcoming album “breaks a lot of rules.”
The singer of “Bad Romance,” who will release her new album “Mayhem” on March 7, said that everything is wrong in terms of sound and genres, calling the compilation “utter chaos.”
“The record just feels good to me,” she said in the March 2025 edition of ELLE UK. It sounds nice. It has a lot of fun while breaking a lot of regulations.
The megastar acknowledged that in order to choose the 14 songs that comprise the tracklist, she had to be “cutthroat” about removing all of the songs she had composed.
“Mayhem” is about pursuing your own chaos into whichever nook and crannie it leads you to,” she clarified.
In that sense, it was about listening to the tunes. It took all of my love to write as many songs as I did for this CD.
