Tekashi 6ix9ine is suing LA Fitness for $1 million, claiming that they failed to protect him during a vicious gym attack
Tekashi 6ix9ine has filed a claim against LA Fitness after he was attacked by supposed gang members at one of their gyms in 2023.
In the lawsuit, he is asking for $1 million, saying the company did not provide enough protection to stop the “brutal attack.”
He said he experienced physical pain, mental distress, and cash problems because of the beating.
The rapper says that LA Fitness did not have enough security.
TMZ reports that Tekashi is suing LA Fitness for over $1 million in damages after he was “brutally beaten” by a group of men at one of their clubs in South Florida.
The event happened in March 2023, and videos of it quickly spread on social media.
The rapper has recently sued the company in a Palm Beach court, saying the gym didn’t have enough security to stop the violent attack.
He claimed that the gym staff at LA Fitness didn’t know the security rules well and didn’t call the cops quickly after realizing there was an attack.
He also said that LA Fitness did not properly respond to his attack, which resulted in him being “brutally beaten, assaulted, and robbed.”
The artist said he experienced physical injuries, pain, suffering, difficulty doing things, embarrassment, medical bills, loss of earnings, and a lower quality of life because of the event.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was attacked by some people in the sauna at LA Fitness.
After the event, Tekashi’s lawyer told TMZ that Tekashi was in the gym’s shower when the attack happened.
The artist with rainbow hair was pulled from the sauna to the bathroom floor by guys he said were members of the Latin Kings gang.
Without any protection around, Tekashi was unprotected during the attack and was badly beaten by his attackers.
In the popular video, Tekashi is seen trying to cover his head from the hits. At one point, one of the guys kicked him in the gut and then hit him in the head several times.
After the attackers were done, they left Tekashi, who was later seen coming out of the bathroom with a swollen and bloody face.
The police and emergency medical services were called, and the rapper was taken to the hospital for care.
The attack was connected to the rapper working with the police to help catch his old gang partners.
Since the attack, people think the rapper was targeted because he helped federal officials take down the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang.
Tekashi had initially faced decades in jail on crime, drug, and other charges. After making a deal with federal officials, they asked for a shorter term and told the judge about his help in bringing down former gang members.
In 2019, Judge Paul Engelmayer ordered Tekashi to two years in jail.
He was given credit for 13 months of time already spent, required to do 300 hours of community service, and fined $35,000.
Tekashi 6ix9ine recently broke the rules of his court-supervised release.
In April 2020, Tekashi was let out of jail early because he said his health problems made him more at risk for the coronavirus.
The artist was put on supervised release but was arrested in October for failing drug tests and flying without permission from his probation officer.
In November, he was given a term of 45 days in jail. After that, he has to spend 30 days under house arrest, then 30 days of home detention, and finally, he has a 30-day watch.
Engelmayer strongly criticized the troubled artist during the decision, saying he deeply broke the court’s trust, according to the New York Post.
He said, “In short, I notice a trend.” Having five probation violations suggests that you think the rules don’t apply to you. Maybe you feel this way because you are the famous rapper Tekashi 6ix 9ine.
The rapper is facing a domestic violence case in the Dominican Republic for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, who is reggaeton singer Yailin la Más Viral. Additionally, he has been charged with abuse and failure to appear in connection with the case.
The rapper’s car was sold at auction by the government.
Last year, the IRS took some of Tekashi’s luxury cars and auctioned them off to cover the rapper’s bills.
TMZ reports that one of the cars taken was a 2019 Lamborghini Urus. It had 49,294 miles on it and was customized with black leather seats and TV screens in the headrests. The car was sold for $175,043 to an unknown buyer.
Another expensive car taken was a 2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which went for $85,500 and had less than 40,000 miles on it.
Both cars were decorated with a unique rainbow paint splatter design that Tekashi likely added himself when he bought them.
