Donald Trump Demands the New York Judge Overseeing His Hush Money Sentencing Be Disbarred
The judge in charge of Donald Trump’s hush money case in New York is not to his liking.
Judge Juan Merchan, who recently declared that punishment would start on January 10th, was the subject of the president-elect’s weekend diatribe. Trump said, “I never falsified business records,” and referred to Merchan as “the most conflicted judge in New York State history.” It is an attack on their political rival, ME, and a fabricated allegation by a dishonest judge who is merely carrying out the Biden/Harris Injustice Department’s mandate!
Merchan was accused by Trump of inventing the case and imposing a “gag order” to keep the Republican president from speaking out.
He said, “The Fake News knows everything about it, but they won’t talk about it.”
The judge indicated that no punishment would be suggested despite Merchan’s decision to proceed with sentence, citing presidential immunity as Trump gets ready for his inauguration. Trump, however, didn’t mince words, calling Merchan a “completely unmanageable, Trump-hating judge” and calling for his disbarment.
The 78-year-old also cited his legal disputes with special counsel Jack Smith, asserting that his innocence was demonstrated by the allegations against him being dropped. In the last weeks of his 2016 campaign, Trump allegedly conspired to hide a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, which led to his conviction on 34 charges of falsifying business records in May 2024. The purpose of the payment was to keep Daniels from disclosing allegations of an affair with Trump years prior, which Trump has repeatedly denied.
