Salah of Liverpool claims that leading the league feels different this time around

Following Liverpool’s thrilling 3-1 victory over Leicester City to take a seven-point lead in the Premier League this season, attacker Mohamed Salah claimed he feels something different about the team’s performance.

Jordan Ayew gave Leicester an unexpected lead in the sixth minute on Thursday, but Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, and Salah’s goals at Anfield changed the tide.

Although Liverpool is currently the clear favorite to win the championship, they have faltered from comparable situations in the past, most notably in the 2018–19 season when they had a sizable lead but ultimately lost to Manchester City.

“It feels different, but the important thing is we need to stay humble,” Salah, who has 16 goals to his name, told Amazon Prime.

“We lost it in the end because we had a few injuries when we were ahead (previously).” Hopefully, we continue in that manner without being hurt and continue to win.

“This one is really unique. My goal is for this club to win the Premier League, so I hope we do.”

Liverpool will host Manchester United on January 5 after traveling to play West Ham United on Sunday.
