President Xi Jinping of China is scheduled to visit Russia in 2025, according to the Russian ambassador
Early on Friday, Moscow’s ambassador to Beijing informed the state-run RIA news agency that President Xi Jinping of China will be visiting Russia in 2025.
Ambassador Igor Morgulov informed RIA that the necessary arrangements are currently being developed for concrete bilateral events.
“What can be said that is no secret, in terms of priority, is that the chairman of the People’s Republic of China is expected in Russia next year.”
A request for validation from Reuters was not promptly responded to by China’s foreign ministry.
Putin proclaimed a “no limits” partnership during his February 2022 visit to China, just days before he dispatched tens of thousands of troops to Ukraine. After his re-election by a landslide last May, he was in Beijing once more, greeting a “new era” of relations that would prioritize opposition to U.S. policy.
In 2023, Xi was treated as a “dear friend” at the Kremlin following his unprecedented third term in office.
Morgulov also stated to RIA that China, which has not condemned Russia’s 34-month-old war in Ukraine, comprehended the rationale behind the conflict “inasmuch as they are confronting many of the same challenges — the U.S. and its allies are increasing pressure on China in the Asia-Pacific region.”
He stated that NATO is “developing strategies to relocate its military infrastructure” to the region.
He stated that the United States’ policy necessitated a collaborative response from Russia and China.
“In the international arena, it is up to our countries to respond further with a ‘dual counteraction’ to the ‘dual deterrence’ which the West is trying to pursue with regard to Russia and China,” RIA reported him as saying.
In collaboration with Brazil, China has proposed a peace plan for the Ukraine conflict that involves the freezing of battle lines and the consideration of the security interests of both parties.
Russia has expressed its endorsement of the proposals.
The China-Brazil initiative has been dismissed by Ukraine as serving Moscow’s interests, despite the fact that Ukraine has proposed its own plans to end the conflict, the most recent of which includes a request for NATO membership.
Russian forces are presently occupying approximately 20% of Ukraine’s territory and have been making significant progress, surpassing their previous rate of advancement since the beginning of the conflict.
