Kamala Harris Returns to Her Roots After Presidential Election Loss

The Vice President is enjoying some quality time with her family now that her campaign has concluded.

Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be enjoying a relaxed period with her family after the 2024 Presidential election. Photos posted on social media by her niece Meena Harris show the 60-year-old beaming alongside her two great-nieces.

The post includes two carousel images that were uploaded to Instagram on Sunday, November 10. In the photos, Harris is leisurely playing a game of Connect Four, her hair styled in a messy bun, and she is dressed in a Howard University pullover hoodie.

“Returning to the place where it all started just a few months back,” Meena Harris noted in the caption. “I am deeply thankful to all who attended.” Our affection for her is immense.

Last week, VP Harris was bested by now-President-elect Donald Trump. Newsweek reports that Harris is reallocating some campaign funds for a recount. The website states, “The initial $41,300/$15,000 from an individual/multicandidate committee (‘PAC’) will be designated for the DNC.” The subsequent $3,300/$5,000 from an individual/PAC will be designated for Harris for President’s Recount Account.

Nevertheless, Harris previously acknowledged Trump’s victory after he was declared the winner. According to CNN, as of Saturday, Trump secured 50.3% of the popular vote and 312 Electoral votes.

“A core tenet of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we acknowledge the outcome,” explained the VP. “That principle, as much as any other, distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny, and anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it.”

She stated, “At the same time, in our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or to a party, but to the Constitution of the United States.”
