President Xi of China will travel to Russia for the BRICS conference
The Chinese foreign ministry said on Friday that Chinese President Xi Jinping will travel to Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24 to attend the 16th BRICS meeting.
At a routine news conference, ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that Xi will attend the leaders’ summit, the expert leaders’ dialogues, and other events during his tour. He would also have in-depth discussions with leaders about the state of the world.
According to Mao, China is prepared to collaborate with all sides to further BRICS cooperation, usher in a new age of solidarity and independence in the Global South, and cooperatively advance global peace and prosperity.
