Liam Payne of One Direction Passes Away at Age 31

The former member of One Direction died on Wednesday after he fell from the balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel.

In the capital of Argentina, the musician fell from his room on the fourth floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.

Witnesses informed TMZ that the sad event happened shortly after 5 p.m. local time, following the pop star’s bizarre behavior earlier in the day in the hotel lobby.

According to reports, Liam, who joined One Direction as a youngster after trying out for the UK version of “The X Factor,” broke his laptop in the lobby before being taken to his hotel room.

The former bandmates actually got back together during one of Niall Horan’s recent shows in Argentina, which the singer attended.

Although Liam had great success with One Direction, he had previously acknowledged that he struggled with alcohol and drugs and that his way of life had at one point become a “cause for concern.”

Starring in the band with Niall, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, the “Strip That Down” hitmaker told the BBC: “When I was younger, I went straight in on the whisky.” I usually choose my poison early on and then continue until I become tired of it.

Liam acknowledged that, in spite of his success and notoriety, he had gone through some “very dark years.”

The singer revealed: “There were a couple of very dark years of me going through extreme peril with different mental health things.” The singer and his ex-partner, pop diva Cheryl, had a kid named Bear. Simply put, I had no idea where I was headed.
