Kenyan shilling stable: foreign exchange inflows from the diaspora meet demand from importers

According to one dealer, the diaspora dollar inflows met importer demand, keeping the Kenyan shilling stable against the dollar on Thursday.

According to LSEG statistics, the shilling was trading at 128.50/129.50 against the dollar at 0715 GMT, which was the same as the closing rate on Wednesday.

The dealer stated, “We don’t expect much movement ahead of the weekend.”
