Benni: “I am capable of becoming as good as the world’s top coaches”

Coach Benni McCarthy, a former Manchester United striker, thinks he has what it takes to become one of the best teachers in the world. He is planning his immediate future at the moment.

The famous South African football player played for the Red Devils for two seasons with Erik Ten Hag. He was mostly in charge of setting up the club’s offense.

Following his departure from the Premier League giants before the 2024–25 season, McCarthy was linked with a number of jobs in Africa, including the Bafana job.

Still, the great Porto player recently said that he doesn’t just want to be a “ordinary” coach.

McCarthy said on the Whistle Podcast, “The first step is to believe in yourself.”

“I believed that when I was a player, and I still believe it now that I’m a coach. I never settled for being a normal player, and I won’t do that as a coach either.”

“I think that with the right club, the right chance, and the chance, I can get to the level of the best coaches in the world.”
