According to sources, three individuals were killed in Iraqi Kurdistan by a Turkish drone strike
Three individuals were slain in a Turkish drone strike on a vehicle in the semi-autonomous northern Kurdistan region of Iraq on Thursday, according to security and medical sources.
The sources stated that the incident occurred in the Sulaimaniya region, and that the vehicle was set ablaze. The identities of the victims have not yet been determined.
Turkey conducts attacks on a regular basis in northern Iraq, which it claims are directed at militants affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), an organization that is illegal. Additionally, it maintains numerous outposts throughout Iraqi territory.
In 1984, the PKK initiated an insurgency against Ankara with the primary objective of establishing an autonomous Kurdish state.
