Fiorentina signs De Gea, a Spanish goalkeeper
After a year without a team, Fiorentina announced on Friday that they have signed David De Gea, a goalkeeper who formerly played for Manchester United and Spain.
The 33-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the option of a second year. He started his career at Atletico Madrid, where he won the UEFA Super Cup and Europa League.
After 12 seasons and the completion of his contract, De Gea departed Manchester United in July 2023, having taken home the Premier League championship, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Europa League.
The goalie, who earned his final 45 caps for Spain in 2020, is joining a team that lost the previous two Conference League finals and ended ninth in the standings the previous year.
