If Madonna’s unexpected entrance at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere wasn’t enough to leave fans in shock, then nothing would have.

The 65-year-old pop icon made an unusual red carpet debut at the July 22 premiere in New York City, and her bold sense of style really converted the step-and-repeat into her own runway.

The Grammy-winning artist looked stunning in a short black blazer dress, matching ankle boots, and sunglasses, all embodying her usual flair. Her eleven-year-old twins, Estere and Stella, accompanied her for photos with Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and director Shawn Levy.

Madonna made an appearance to promote the Marvel movie that features her 1989 hit song “Like a Prayer”—the remix is incredible.

Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, discussed how they even got the hitmaker’s approval to use the song in the first place in an interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM on July 19.

“It did involve a personal visit to Madonna, where we showed Madonna the sequence where ‘Like a Prayer’ would be used,” Levy said.

“It was a big deal to ask for it and certainly a bigger deal to use it,” Reynolds stated. “We went over and met with her and sort of showed her how it was being used, and where, and why.”

Thankfully, Madonna was completely on board, and the fact that her son enjoyed the first two Deadpool movies also helped. “She sent a really nice note,” Reynolds said. “She really stated, ‘You have to do this,’ after watching it. And if she wasn’t exactly right, dang it.”

Madonna is also the mother of Lourdes, 27, Rocco, 24, David, 18, and Mercy, 18, in addition to the twins. On August 24, 2012, Estere and Stella were born in Malawi. When the girls were five years old, in February 2017, Madonna adopted them.

On July 25, Deadpool & Wolverine opens in theaters.
