Thiago Motta was named the new head coach of Juventus following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri

Thiago Motta, a former head coach of Bologna, has joined Juventus as their next coach.

Massimiliano Allegri, whose contract was mutually ended due to his actions following Juventus’ Coppa Italia victory, was replaced by Motta.

The 41-year-old Italian-Brazilian elected to leave Bologna at the conclusion of his contract after qualifying for the Champions League with a fifth-place finish in Serie A, and he has now signed a contract with Juve through June 30, 2027.

On the Juventus website, Motta stated, “I am really happy to begin a new chapter at the helm of a great club like Juventus.” “I express my gratitude to the owners and management, who can be assured of my commitment to upholding the Juventus brand and satisfying the supporters.”

Motta, a former midfielder for Barcelona, Inter, and Paris Saint-Germain, captained the Azzurri for thirty senior international games.

Before accepting the Bologna position in September 2022, he had stints as a coach at Genoa and Spezia after switching to coaching.
