Foreign and Finance Ministers are appointed by Rwanda

According to Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente, Rwanda has appointed statistics official Yusuf Murangwa as its new finance minister. The country’s ambassador to the Netherlands, Olivier Nduhungirehe, will serve as the foreign minister.

Together with the appointments of ministers overseeing public service and labor, gender and family promotion, and the environment, the announcements were made public on Wednesday.

Prior to his appointment, Murangwa, the new finance minister, served as director-general of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda, the government statistics bureau.

The previous occupant, Uzziel Ndagijimana, was transferred to the interior ministry, but Ngirente stated in the announcement that Nduhungirehe’s predecessor would not be going there.

The presidential election in Rwanda is scheduled for July 15.
