Senegal’s main airport reports that a jet skidded off the runway, injuring eleven persons
According to a statement from Senegal’s Blaise Diagne International Airport, a Boeing 737 passenger airliner went off the runway after takeoff on Thursday morning, injuring eleven persons, four of them critically.
According to the statement, at about 1:00 a.m. local time, Air Senegal flight HC301, which was bound for Bamako, Mali, “went off the runway during its takeoff phase”.
It stated that eleven, including four critically injured passengers, were among the 78 persons on board.
According to the statement, an inquiry is being conducted to determine what caused the accident.
Since then, the airport has been shut down.
