President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe rearranges the cabinet
President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe reorganized his cabinet on Wednesday, eight months after appointing a new one after winning reelection in August of last year.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya announced the cabinet reorganization and stated that the appointments and reassignments went into effect right away.
Winston Chitando was removed from the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works and reallocated to the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development. Daniel Garwe, a former minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, took Chitando’s place in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works.
The new Minister for National Housing and Social Amenities is Zhemu Soda, the former Minister of Mines and Mining Development.
Additionally, Mnangagwa named Headman Moyo as the deputy minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs and Musa Ncube as the deputy minister of National Housing and Social Amenities.
Yeukai Simbanegavi was transferred to the deputy ministry of energy and power development from his position as deputy minister of national housing and social amenities.
