DRC: Citizens Continues to Wait for The Formation of A New Government
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), it is ten days after the appointment of Judith Suminwa as Prime Minister, the first woman in the history of the country to hold that position, she has not yet been handed the office by her predecessor Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde.
After being appointed by president Felix Tshisekedi, the new Prime Minister has not yet been sworn in, while the people of DRC continue to wait for the formation of a new government.
Reports say, his predecessor Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde continues with the duties of managing the activities of the creation of a new government.
It is expected that, the new government will have a few ministers as opposed to what happened before the elections in December last year where there were 58 ministers. President Tshisekedi’s UDPS party is expected to have many ministerial positions and others will be divided between the allied parties that supported him when of election.
Reports say that UNC’s Vital Vital Kamerhe is expected to get five seats, while parties led by Modeste Bahati and Jean-Pierre Bemba are expected to get a seat in the government.
