It was just confirmed by Airbus that it will surpass Boeing this year

This year, the French aircraft manufacturer Airbus has delivered 142 aircraft to clients, almost twice as many as its American competitor Boeing, which is having production issues and is under increased scrutiny following the January mid-air incident with a door plug falling off an aircraft. Additionally, Airbus affirmed that it will maintain its leadership for the remainder of the year during a meeting with investors on Wednesday.

In a PowerPoint detailing its goals for the year, Airbus stated, “As the basis for its 2024 guidance, the Company assumes no additional disruptions to the world economy, air traffic, the supply chain, the Company’s internal operations, and its ability to deliver products and services.” It’s a bit of boilerplate that, considering the problems at Boeing, reads scathingly.

As of right present, Airbus claims that it can deliver 800 commercial jetliners by year’s end. Boeing will not be able to reach 350 by December at its present rate of deliveries. “The way I would look at it is… it’s a factor that makes us even more think about how can we make sure that these things will never happen at Airbus,” Airbus said, despite its terrified concern for its American coworkers. It still takes away from them in terms of market share, as CFO Thomas Toepfer stated to CNBC last month.
