Nigerian Dangote Petroleum Corporation begins supplying petroleum products to the local market

Nigerian oil refinery Dangote started supplying crude oil to the local market on Tuesday, marking an important step in the quest for energy independence, the oil marketing association and the company said.

This factory, the largest in Africa, was built in a part of the commercial capital Lagos at a cost of $20 billion by the continent’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and was completed after many years of delay.

It can process up to 650,000 samples per day (bpd) and will be the largest in Africa and Europe when it reaches full capacity next year.

Dangote Group CEO Devakumar Edwin confirmed the export of gasoline and diesel to the local market.

“We have enough. Goods are transported both by sea and by road. The ship was sorted one by one to carry diesel fuel and aircraft, Edwin said.
