Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko has inspected the construction project of the Uhuru Power Cooling Station located in Urambo district in Tabora region and expressed his dissatisfaction with the construction work of the 132 kV voltage line from Tabora to Urambo which is being implemented by a subsidiary company of TANESCO (ETDCO).

The construction work of the Uhuru power cooling station is divided into two parts where the construction of the power cooling station is done by the TBEA company from China who have reached 84 percent of implementation while the power line construction work from Tabora to Urambo (72 miles) done by the ETDCO company who have reached only 10 percent of implementation.

Following the slow construction of the line, Dr. Biteko has instructed the TANESCO Board to remove the General Manager of ETDCO Muhamed Abdallah who has been seen not to give priority to the implementation of strategic projects managed by the Company.
