Trump’s bond in his civil fraud case lowered to $175 million
Former President Trump had a diverse day in court Monday: A judge disallowed his motion to consent district attorney and supposed jury selection in his hush money trial will start April 15; distinctly, a New York appeals court reduced the total Trump must post as bond from closely half a billion dollars to $175 million and offered him additional ten days to post it to meet the civil fraud verdict against him.
Last week, Trump debated to an appeals court that a bond to cover $454 million was “a basically ridiculousness,” since he doesn’t have the cash to promise it right now. Trump had been facing a closing date Monday to post the $454 million bond or otherwise handle seizure of his properties.
