Ghana won gold medal in men’s football at 13th African Games

Host country Ghana defeat Uganda 1-0 to obtain the men’s soccer gold medal at the African Games at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

Jerry Afriyie’s injury-time strike ensured the Black Satellites’ first soccer gold medal in the African Games for thirteen years.

Uganda hence grabbed the silver medal, with Senegal taking bronze in the men’s soccer group.

Ghana furthermore secured gold in the women’s soccer tournament, after the Black Princesses beat Nigeria 2-1 on Thursday.
