Germany reduces visa rules for students working alongside studies
Germany has just applied the additional part of its new skilled worker act, the first part of which came into action in November 2023.
From nursing to hospitality to IT, the German government expects that the law will motivate skilled workers from all types of industries to come to the federal republic and improve the nation’s record-high worker deficiency.
However, qualified jobseekers who are yet to start their profession, specifically international students, can also gain from the new law. Whether you are previously studying in Germany or intending to soon, here’s what international students should know regarding the new rules:
The new rules will make it simpler to mix work and studying in Germany at each stage of upper education, plus before you’ve even been allowed to study.
With the Visum zur Studienbewerbung (literally, visa for study applications), non-EU citizens will be accepted to come to Germany for up to nine months while they arrange a university submission. During this time, applicants can finish language programs in English or German, whichever is significant to their requested program, collect documents and get to experience the country.
