"Where Africa Comes to Stay Informed."
BUL achieved a significant victory in Thursday’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League, defeating Kataka 4-1 at BCS Stadium in Bukedea, marking their second consecutive win.
Derrick Byabachwezi provided the visitors with an early lead in the fourth minute and extended their advantage in the 21st minute with his second goal of the evening. Kataka scored just before half-time when Ali Sentamu successfully converted a penalty after Ismail Tamubula was fouled in the box.
BUL restored their two-goal cushion five minutes after the hour mark, with Byabachwezi completing his hat-trick after Frank Katongole set him up. Simon Oketch Achidi scored a fourth goal after receiving an assist from Ssewagudde, sealing a convincing away victory for the visitors.
The result brings BUL to six points from two matches, while Kataka stays at one point. At Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, Express achieved their inaugural victory of the season with a 2-0 triumph against KCCA.
The two sides exchanged opportunities in a scoreless first half, with KCCA nearly breaking the deadlock when Saidi Mayanja’s shot hit the crossbar in the 34th minute.
Goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya made a crucial save to thwart Charles Lwanga. The Red Eagles took the lead six minutes into the second half when Isaac Wagoina scored past KCCA goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugolofa.
Henry Wamala nearly extended the lead when his shot struck the woodwork, and Derrick Ddungu ultimately secured the points in stoppage time by taking advantage of a defensive error. Express has moved up to sixth place with three points, while KCCA remains without a point after their first two matches.
