A CNT/MDA poll shows that Lula would beat Bolsonaro in a second round of voting in Brazil

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva would defeat right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro if they faced off in a second-round runoff in next month's election, according to a CNT/MDA poll released on Tuesday.
If there were a runoff, Lula would garner 47.3% of voter support, while the eldest son of former President Jair Bolsonaro would receive 40%, according to the poll.

In a poll conducted on August 11, Lula was ahead of Senator Bolsonaro with a score of 48% compared to 39.1%.
In a first-round scenario, Lula would garner 40.5% of voter support, followed by Bolsonaro at 30.4%, Augusto Cury with 6%, Ronaldo Caiado at 3%, and Renan Santos with 2.7%, as indicated by the poll.

The earlier first-round survey indicated Lula at 42.4% and Bolsonaro at 28.7%.

If no candidate secures more than 50% of valid votes in the first round on October 4, the two leading candidates will proceed to a runoff on October 25.

CNT conducted a survey involving 2,002 individuals from September 9 to 13, achieving a margin of error of 2.2 percentage points.
