Davido Books Three Nights In Lagos To Mark 15 Years In Music

Davido is taking the celebration home. The Afrobeats star used Friday to unveil Oriadé: The Residency, a three-night stand at the freshly remodeled National Theatre in Iganmu on December 17, 18 and 19.

“LAGOS!!! We bringing it HOME! 15 years of madness,” he wrote when he announced the dates.

Fifteen Years Since “Dami Duro”

The run doubles as an anniversary. It was in December 2011 that “Dami Duro” broke him nationally and set off the climb that turned him into one of African music's biggest draws. Each of the three nights will pair material from the new record with the catalog that got him here, and he has said guests will appear across the run.

The First Lagos Airing Of Oriadé

The shows will also be the first time Lagos hears Oriadé performed live. His sixth album, 13 tracks long, arrived in July carrying features from Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, Fola and Llona, among others. Davido has said the numbers on it have been strong and that fans have taken to the songs.

Timed For Detty December

Landing the dates in mid-December is deliberate. The shows fall inside Detty December, the holiday window when diaspora Nigerians and tourists flood into Lagos for concerts, parties and family time. For Davido, part of the appeal is getting to perform for a home crowd while his own family is around. “I'm just happy that we're going to be able to do more back home,” he said.

A Rare Bet On The Home Crowd

Organizers describe the run as one of the first residencies an Afrobeats artist has staged in Nigeria. The usual pattern for the country's biggest names is arena headline slots abroad and a single marquee homecoming date. Committing to three consecutive nights in one Lagos venue is a different sort of wager.

Tickets And A New Video

Presale registration has already opened, with general tickets going on sale Friday, September 25.

Alongside the announcement came a residency trailer and the video for “On The Road,” assembled from a year of behind-the-scenes footage. The cut takes in dates from his 5IVE ALIVE World Tour in Nigeria, Toronto and New York, as well as Paris Fashion Week, his Coachella debut and the opening ceremony of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
