According to the paramedic service, two Israelis were seriously injured in a Hezbollah reprisal attack on Golan

Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group, replied after an Israeli attack killed a former bodyguard for its leader, and on Tuesday it fired dozens of missiles at the Golan Heights, injuring two people gravely, according to the Israeli ambulance service.

Two victims were reported by paramedics as “in critical condition” after red alert sirens went out in the Israeli-occupied Golan, according to a statement from Israel’s ambulance service. The casualties were not verified by the Israeli military.

An Israeli attack earlier in the day destroyed a car on Syrian territory on the Damascus-Beirut highway, killing a former bodyguard of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. According to security sources, Nasrallah had recently been involved in transferring weapons for the group supported by Iran.

In return, Hezbollah claimed to have fired hundreds of Katyusha rockets towards the Golan Heights. Forty rockets entered the Golan from Lebanon, according to the Israeli military.

Without commenting on Yasser Nimr Qarnabsh’s function inside the group, Hezbollah expressed its condolences for his passing as a bodyguard. He was reportedly involved in the transportation of weapons as a mid-level Hezbollah officer, according to two security sources.

Usually, Israel stays silent about its forces’ attacks in Syria. A representative for the Israeli military responded to questions regarding the strike by saying, “We do not comment on reports in the foreign media.”

After its ally Hamas launched the onslaught on Israel on October 7 that sparked the Gaza conflict, Hezbollah started fire at Israeli targets along the border in support of Palestinians. Around the two countries’ border, tens of thousands of Israelis and Lebanese were compelled to flee their homes.
