Ex-assistant to Kevin Hart wants her NDA to be removed from the defamation lawsuit

In Kevin Hart’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against Miesha Shakes, his former assistant, the storyline gets more complex.

As part of the litigation, the ex-employee is now attempting to contest a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), which might reveal additional information about the case.

Following Kevin Hart’s defamation lawsuit against Miesha Shakes, everything appeared to be settling down until his ex-assistant threw a wrench in the works!

Kevin Hart’s Former Assistant Strikes Back in a Dramatic Defamation

The NDA provided that Hart would give Shakes health insurance and pay her $30,000 a year for three years, according to court records filed in support of her complaint.

Shakes promised not to talk about the actor or share any knowledge she learned while working for him in exchange. She was also forbidden by the agreement from using Hart’s name for personal gain without his approval.

Shakes, who worked as the celebrity’s assistant from 2017 to 2020, is now contending that their legal conflict should not uphold the NDA.

The former worker is bringing up alleged mental health problems from when she signed. Shakes said in a recent statement that In Touch was able to obtain:

“I was experiencing serious mental health problems and severe financial hardship as a result of my unemployment when I signed the NDA. Hart was fully aware of my chronic medical conditions and my desperate need for money and health insurance because I was unable to pay for either.”

Shakes clarified that she believed the NDA to be mostly a mutual release agreement and was unaware of the “confidentiality clause” when she signed it.

She said Hart told her that signing the paper would be to the “benefit of me and my family.”

The YouTuber Tasha K was a party to the comedian’s lawsuit.

The contentious YouTuber Tasha K was the target of a lawsuit filed by Hart in December, alleging extortion. This marked the beginning of the legal drama between Hart and his former aide.

Hart claimed that unless he paid Tasha K $250,000, she would disclose a shocking interview with his former assistant.

The Blast was able to get legal documents that show that on November 22, 2023, Hart’s legal team wrote to Tasha K, whose true name is Latasha Transrina Kebe.

She was required to “immediately cease and desist all such activity” in response to the letter, which addressed her “recent and ongoing violations of civil and criminal law.”

Tasha K. received a warning letter informing her that her activities were considered “criminal conduct and tortious acts,” which could result in financial damages.

It was made clear that if she persisted in doing these things, her “liability for such monetary damages will increase, as will your exposure to criminal penalties.”

Tasha K.’s Alleged Extortion Plot Was Exposed by Hart’s Legal Team

Donte Mills, Hart’s attorney, described the event in which a person posing as connected to Tasha K’s blog got in touch with a member of the actor’s entourage.

The person said they planned to “publish a damaging story on social media (the “Story”),” ostensibly in accordance with Tasha’s directions. However, they then offered to delay the story if Hart paid a sum of $250,000.

According to the court filings, this attempt is “under Penal Code Section 518,” which deals with extortion and establishes the basis for both criminal and civil penalties.

Tasha K was accused of extortion in the letter, which described her activities as a “textbook example” and highlighted her “effort to extract payment” by “threatening exposure of information supposedly harmful to him.”

The former spouse of Kevin Hart discusses the Katt Williams feud.

Following Hart’s court battle with Tasha K, speculation about a conflict between her ex and Katt Williams was refuted by Hart’s ex-wife, Torrei Hart.

Williams, who is scheduled to tour with Torrei, caused controversy in the past during a viral appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast with his accusations against Hart and other comedians.

According to The Blast, Torrei made an effort to dispel rumors about the purported conflicts while she was leaving the Hollywood Improv in January.

Torrei disclosed that Hart wholeheartedly agreed with her taking part in the three-night tour with Williams. She also downplayed any suggestion of a plot, highlighting their friendship of almost two decades.

Hart, who expressed his admiration for all comedians and his aspirations for Torrei and Williams’ tour to be successful, simultaneously demonstrated his steadfast support.

Katt Williams Got Back at Kevin Hart

Hart did not hold back when addressing the tension head-on, even as his ex-wife Torrei dispelled allegations of a rivalry.

Hart, a father of four, responded to Williams’ earlier accusation that he was a “industry plant” with a few lighthearted jabs while making a guest appearance on “NBA Unplugged.”

“Katt Williams purchased the New York Knicks, which is another interesting truth regarding the team. I’m not sure whether you guys are aware of this. “And there are rumors that he returned the Knicks with a receipt and took them back,” Hart joked, putting a lighthearted spin on the situation.

The “Ride Along” actor joked that Williams’ purchase had only lasted for 15 days before he returned the squad, adding that Williams was the only person to ever do such a thing.
