Chelsea and Boca Juniors reach an agreement for the adolescent Anselmino’s signing

Argentine powerhouse Boca Juniors and Chelsea have completed a deal for the $18 million signing of defender Aaron Anselmino, a source with the Buenos Aires-based team announced on Monday.

After making his first team debut in 2023, Anselmino, who started his Boca career at the age of 12, garnered interest from European clubs like as Manchester United and AC Milan after making ten appearances.

In order to give fans more time to “enjoy” the center back before he enters the Premier League, the Argentine team and Chelsea decided to keep the 19-year-old for at least another six months.

“Papers are being exchanged; the arrangement is complete. He will remain at Boca, but the transfer will soon be completed, a source told Reuters.

Anselmino “will become a great footballer and will be a national team player,” according to remarks made a few days ago by Juan Roman Riquelme, the president of Boca and a former Argentina international.

Anselmino’s deal is still pending, according to Boca, who revealed midfielder Tomas Belmonte as a new addition on Monday.
