Rapper Travis Scott was detained when Miami Beach police claim he shouted at guests aboard a yacht while intoxicated

Rapper Travis Scott was taken into custody early on Thursday in Miami Beach on minor counts of trespassing and public intoxication. According to the police, they discovered Scott at the marina in the city, yelling profanities at individuals on a yacht and refusing to leave.

According to a police report, officers responded to a call about fights on a yacht and went to the marina just before one in the morning.

According to the complaint, when they got there, they discovered Scott, 33, ranting at people aboard the ship while standing on the pier. Police ordered him to sit down, but he refused to stop shouting and getting back up. According to the report, they could smell alcohol on his breath.

Scott was permitted to go because the individual who had phoned the police did not want to file charges.

But when he turned to leave, Scott could not stop shouting profanities at those on the yacht. According to the report, he fled as a passenger in a waiting car, but he returned five minutes later and disregarded the cops’ orders to leave once more.

He then started ranting again, according to the officers, upsetting people in adjacent boats and buildings. “It’s Miami,” he said in response to police inquiries about whether he had consumed alcohol. He was taken into custody.

Scott posted a $650 bond and was freed from Miami-Dade County Jail before noon.

He wrote, “Lol,” on the social media site X following his release.

According to a statement from his lawyer Bradford Cohen, Scott was “detained due to a misunderstanding.”

Cohen stated, “We thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution. There was absolutely no physical altercation involved.”

Jacques Webster, better known as Scott, is a well-known hip-hop artist. He has over 100 tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 and four number-one singles: “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.”

With his ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner, a businesswoman and media star, he has two children.

Scott has already been a part of several police investigations.

A crowd surge during Scott’s 2021 performance at his home Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, claimed ten lives. Many attendees were unable to breathe or lift their arms due to the close quarters. The victims, who were between the ages of 9 and 27, perished from compressive asphyxia, which a medical professional compared to being run over by a car.

Attorneys representing the victims claimed in court that careless planning and a disregard for the event’s capacity and safety were to blame for the hundreds of injuries and fatalities that occurred during the concert.

Scott, the promoter Live Nation, and the other parties suing have refuted these allegations, stating that their top priority is everyone’s safety. They claimed it was impossible to predict what would happen.

Last month, the last litigation was resolved.

Following a police inquiry, a grand jury decided not to indict Scott and the other five festival participants.
