Amid election talks, Chrissy Teigen worries that Donald Trump is “coming after” her
Chrissy Teigen will not be voting for Donald Trump because she does not want him to be in the White House.
The former cast member of “Lip Sync Battle” recently had an open discussion about their political beliefs with her husband, John Legend. The power couple asserts that if the former president takes back his position, they might be in jeopardy.
Trump and Chrissy Teigen have been at odds for years. She went famous for calling him out when he labeled her husband “boring.”
Chrissy Teigen Is Afraid Of What Will Happen After Her Tweets About Donald Trump
Teigen and Legend participated in a live recording of the podcast “On with Kara Swisher” during this year’s Cannes Lions, which is a component of the yearly film festival. The model considered why she believed they might be an issue now, as well as her previous criticism of Trump.
Teigen was concerned that if Trump succeeded in regaining his position as President of the United States, his focus would shift to her. She thought that her previous tweets, particularly the controversial ones from 2019, might come back to haunt her.
“It’s also kind of scary because it’s, ‘Oh, he’s aware of me,'” Teigen remarked, “Is that truly the worst that could happen? Though it’s clear he’s insane, is there any chance he could pursue you in other ways? It’s an odd sensation.
Legend shared his wife’s concerns when he advised supporters to think about his family’s safety if they were looking for a reason not to support Trump. He emphasized that they were only one of the numerous reasons the outgoing president shouldn’t “come within a mile of the White House again,” according to DEADLINE.
Teigen intends to continue her political career despite her anxiety.
Even though Teigen and Legend were concerned about potential punishment from Trump, it was insufficient to deter them from getting involved in politics. The power couple emphasized that even if their opinions did not resonate with everyone, they would still communicate them.
“We intend to remain engaged. Legend said, “We’re going to support President Biden by going to the White House on our way home from here,” adding that he was certain his remarks would have an impact on his TV job.
The Grammy-winning musician declared, “[I’m] sure some fans won’t vote for my team on The Voice because they don’t agree with my politics, but I’m fine with it,”
“People are aware of what to expect from me. I stick to my principles. It’s been steady for a while now.”
“They’re going to hate you either way, so you might as well be okay sleeping at night,” Teigen said in agreement. She also mentioned that the brands that are connected to her would face difficulties as a result of her candidness.
Teigen’s Trending Tweet Appears During A Congress Hearing
After Teigen’s widely shared 2019 tweet surfaced during a congressional conference, her feud with Trump garnered fresh attention in February 2023. According to The Blast, during the House Republicans’ session, she read her rebuttal to the former president on Twitter (now known as X).
Anika Collier Navaroli, a former employee of Twitter, apologized to congressmen for the derogatory language she was preparing to use in a brief video clip. She then read the now-famous tweet from Teigen in which she referred to Trump as a “p-ssy ass b-tch.”
When Teigen tweeted about her “boring” husband and referred to her as his “filthy mouthed” wife, the former president of the United States incited backlash. The highlight of the media personality’s day was when her remarks from the House hearing surfaced again. She said, “I don’t know how to go on after this.”
Chrissy Teigen criticized President Trump when his Mar-A-Lago home was raided.
As previously mentioned, Teigen and Trump have been at odds for years, and the media celebrity has responded positively to the politician’s personal inquiry. The 78-year-old was reportedly under investigation by the Justice Department in 2022, according to The Blast.
They raided Trump’s Florida Mar-A-Lago estate as a result of their investigations into his possible role in tampering with the 2020 presidential election. In a statement, the former president denounced their acts, saying they heralded “dark times” for the nation.
Teigen, who was expecting at the time, pleaded otherwise. On her Instagram Story, she posted an ultrasound image of her child, who seemed to give a thumbs up and joke, saying, “Me hearing the FBI raided mar a lago.”
Trump and Joe Biden continued to lead in the polls.
According to poll findings from April, Trump enjoyed a sizable lead over President Joe Biden despite facing a criminal trial. Among registered voters, he garnered 49% support compared to 43% for his opponent.
In an earlier January poll, Biden received 45% of the vote, but it was still unable to overcome Trump’s consistent 49%. CNN reports that these figures could be impacted by differing opinions of the two presidents.
Trump’s presidency is apparently viewed favorably by 55% of Americans, compared to 44% who view it unfavorably. In the meantime, 39% contend that Biden’s presidency has been a success, while 61% feel it has been a disaster.
