Zambia loses shockingly against Taifa Stars

Tanzania defeated Zambia 1-0 on Tuesday night in their CAF 2026 World Cup qualifying match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium because Zambia was unable to capitalize on their home field advantage.

As a result, Chipolopolo drops to fourth position in the Group E rankings with three points from four games played, exactly like third-placed Niger, who still has two games remaining.

Tanzania and Morocco are currently even on six points, but later tonight, the Atlas Lions will play Congo. Zambia is a favorite in the group, therefore the Taifa Stars’ victory was unexpected.

The game was settled in the fifth minute of play when Waziri Shentembo took advantage of a defensive breakdown by Zambia to score early.

After then, Chipolopolo never fully recovered and made every effort to score during the ninety minutes, with Patson Daka being the standout player. Nevertheless, it was insufficient as they lost their qualifying campaign at home.
