Finidi: There’s No Specific Formation Needed To Win Games

The Super Eagles’ coach, Finidi George, has stated that there is no secret to winning football games.

On Matchday 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Qualifiers in Abidjan, Super Eagles lost 2-1 to Benin Republic.

He listed the Super Eagles’ lack of dedication as one of the main causes.

Finidi George stated at the press conference following the game:

Finidi conceded, “Yes, the goal is to win, but there’s no special formula for that.”

“We need to watch how the players perform at the beginning of the new season and how we can maximize their potential.”

Thus, everyone needs to be dedicated. With that dedication, I believe we can win games.

We’re going to win games, I think.

“And if we can win games, the battle will still exist,” he said.

As a result, we cannot give up because we have only scored three points. We need to figure out a means of getting these players back.

With three points from four games, the 2023 African Nations Cup silver medallists are ranked fifth.

With seven points, Benin Republic led the Group C standings, followed by Lesotho with five.

South Africa and Rwanda are even on four points and will play later on Tuesday.
