The Hush Money Trial Found Donald Trump Guilty of All 34 Felony Charges

In his hush money trial, former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all counts on Thursday.

Prior to the 2016 election, Trump had entered a not guilty plea to all 34 counts in the indictment that dealt with fabricating financial documents pertaining to payments made by his former lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film star Stormy Daniels in exchange for “hush money.”

The 12-person jury was subjected to weeks’ worth of testimony covering tabloid deal-making, Trump and Daniels’ alleged sexual encounter, and the $130,000 payment that silenced her. Trump denied any romantic involvement with Daniels.

Prosecutors claimed that by forging documents pertaining to Cohen’s reimbursement of Daniels—which he paid for out of pocket—Trump committed fraud against the American people.

This is the first time a former president has been found guilty of a crime.
