After the Cup final, Yanga players will join Taifa Stars – African Football

Lacking important players from Young Africans SC, Tanzania will have to carry on with their preparations for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers in 2026.

The reason for this is that Yanga will play Azam FC in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup final on Sunday, June 2.

After winning the Mainland Premier League title earlier this month, young Africans are now aiming for a league and cup double.

Meanwhile, Taifa Stars will travel to Ndola on Tuesday, June 11 to play Zambia in a crucial Group E World Cup qualifier.

In November of last year, Tanzania’s qualifying campaign got off to a shaky start as they lost 2-0 to group favorites Morocco after winning 1-0 against Niger.

Mbwana Samatta was noticeably absent from the 34-player provisional roster that head coach Hemed Suleiman unveiled.

Dickson Job, the defender for Yanga, was also excluded after a disagreement with the tactician during this year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast.
