CompleteEnergies CAF Cairo’s Champions League Final sold out in two hours as CAF and the host club stepped up preparations

The second leg of the CAF Champions League between Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Al Ahly in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, sold out in two hours, setting the stage for what should be an exciting final between two of the biggest clubs in Africa.

The game will begin in Cairo at 20 h00 (17 h00 GMT). Due to the overwhelming demand for the game, which highlights the growing popularity of African Club Football, CAF and the host team, Al Ahly, have had to bolster safety and security measures in and around Cairo International Stadium.

The Final will be viewed by more than 90 nations across the globe, including those in South Pacific, Europe, America, MENA, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Global football fans will have access to the championship game via multiple CAF platforms and in their native tongue. The leading international broadcasters are New World TV, Canal+, and beIN Sport (MENA, Europe, America, and South Pacific), which are CAF’s longstanding partners.

The Final will be televised on several free-to-air networks in Africa, including Azam Media, AfroSport, and SABC.

With 16 clean sheets and just three goals allowed in their past 19 Champions League games (W12 D7), Al Ahly is undefeated.

After going undefeated in their previous five Champions League knockout stage games (W2 D3), Esperance Sportive de Tunis last maintained six straight clean sheets in these kind of games in October 2012.
