Getting the Premiership title is an amazing accomplishment, according to Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers, manager of Celtic, called his team’s Scottish Premier Football League championship a fantastic accomplishment.

With a game remaining, Rodgers led Celtic to victory over Kilmarnock, which they had thrashed 5-0 the previous night.

In a message on the team’s website, the former Liverpool manager thanked the players for their efforts.

“At the conclusion of the season, the top team always emerges victorious in the league, and we are thrilled to have won the Scottish title once more.

“Celtic fans everywhere will undoubtedly be celebrating our amazing accomplishment of winning the Premiership title.

“The guys’ efforts this season deserve a great deal of recognition. They have committed themselves daily to their work and to doing all within their power to help our club achieve even greater success.

“We have successfully reached our aim, which is to be the Scottish Champions—this is the goal we strive for and the one we live for. We have faced many obstacles along the way.

“It’s been a fantastic team effort, with the coaching staff here and all of the club staff contributing, and our supporters, as always, have been a major factor in this success,” the statement reads.

“I’ve stated many times that this football team’s true strength is its unity, and when that happens, we can and do accomplish tremendous things.

“Again, Rugby Park had incredible support this evening, and I’m thrilled that we were able to win another title.

Prior to Scotland’s Cup Final matchup with Rangers on May 25, Rodgers expressed his excitement about reuniting with the fans.

“We now want to cap off the season in style, and we can’t wait to celebrate at Celtic Park on Saturday with 60,000 other Celtic fans.

Naturally, we are aware that this coming weekend will be yet another fantastic Celtic event.

“I’ve had the good fortune to participate in Trophy Days at Paradise previously, and it’s always a memorable occasion where players, staff, and fans gather to celebrate our triumphs.

“I’m confident that everyone will enjoy the day’s events, which of course includes making sure the league campaign ends successfully.

But we never rest on our laurels because that’s the nature of football in general and our club in particular. We constantly strive to do better and continue giving our fans more success.

“We will therefore relish the next few days in the knowledge that we are once again the Scottish Champions, but our attention will soon shift to getting ready for the season’s last game, the Scottish Cup final at Hampden on May 25, and ensuring that trophy stays at Celtic Park as well.”

But for now, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported me during this campaign. Starting the season with the goal of winning the Scottish Championship and finishing atop the table was our original plan.

“Now that we’ve accomplished our goal, let’s all take a moment to celebrate our accomplishment, have fun, and acknowledge that we are the best team in Scotland.”
