Ndidi is willing to leave Leicester City this summer
Despite helping Leicester get promoted back to the Premier League on their first try, Wilfred Ndidi has acknowledged he may leave in the off-season.
The Nigerian international ended up two points outside of safety in 18th position and was a member of the Foxes team that was demoted to the Championship in 2022–2023.
To achieve a quick return to the first division of English football, the East Midlands team defeated Ipswich by a margin of two points, with Ndidi playing a key part for Enzo Maresca’s team.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who missed 10 games at the beginning of 2024 due to a thigh injury that kept him out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, finished with four goals and five assists in 32 league appearances.
Ndidi is in the last two months of his King Power Stadium contract, and Maresca said that negotiations will only happen at the end of the current campaign, thus his future is uncertain.
The former Genk player has been connected to Barcelona, Sevilla, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Newcastle, Tottenham, West Ham, and Aston Villa, among other elite teams.
Ndidi made the following statement regarding his future: “I would not mind trying my luck elsewhere if a good opportunity arises, but for now, I remain a Leicester City player.”
After being demoted, it feels nice to be back in the Premier League. We don’t want to go through the struggle of returning to the EPL once more.
“We have to make sure that we don’t go back to the Championship because morale is high and expectations are high.” It’s not a safe area to play.
