Coach Hassan of Egypt talks about the rumored falling out with Salah
Hossam Hassan, the head coach of Egypt, has addressed rumors that he and captain Mohamed Salah are at odds.
Following the 2023 AFCON finals, Hassan assumed leadership of the Pharaohs. With Salah out of the squad due to injury, he oversaw the team’s friendlies in March.
The Pharaohs are scheduled to play back-to-back 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June 2024 against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau, respectively. The 57-year-old strategist will soon reveal the team.
Hassan stated on King Fut that “we want to clarify everything before the start of the next international break and the media have a right to know what we are doing to achieve our goals.”
Beginning on May 28th, the national team camp will focus on achieving qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Only athletes who possess the zeal, zeal, and attitude necessary to compete for the Egyptian national team will be selected.
It’s undeniable that Mohamed Salah is among the greatest players to have ever played. He and I are not at odds with each other. We have regular communication with him.
Only Hossam Hassan, the record holder with 69 goals from 177 games, has scored more goals for the Pharaohs than Salah, who has scored 56 in 98 games for Egypt.
