OPEC Is Interested In A Possible Oil Sector Partnership With Namibia

The Secretary General of OPEC has voiced hope for Namibia and future oil industry collaboration.

Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais conveyed excitement about a potential partnership with Namibia and reaffirmed OPEC’s willingness to support the country in its oil pursuits.

Al Ghais said these things on Wednesday at an international energy conference in Namibia during a prerecorded speech. He emphasized the importance of Namibia’s oil and energy resources in supplying demand in the future and urged prospective investors to take advantage of the many opportunities the nation offers.

OPEC is investigating Namibia for possible membership, realizing that the country has the potential to become Africa’s fourth-largest oil producer during the next 10 years, following the departure of Angola and other members in recent years.
